Every time we go to the hospital for an X-ray, we pass through the hands of a professional radiologist. Radiology is the medical specialty that deals with generating images of the inside of the body by means of different physical agents. The purpose of the Radiology Degree Career is to respond to the training needs at a higher level, to the technicians and physicists, to acquire a solid base in the mentioned Degree. 

The training will allow the application of adequate diagnostic imaging techniques in the areas of conventional radiology, «C» arch and contrasting studies. Also hemodynamics and angiography; nuclear medicine and Pet-Ct; radiotherapy; nuclear magnetic resonance; computed tomography; mammography and others. 

It also handles all the equipment and instruments of each Diagnostic Imaging service, processing and sending the images and preparing the patient for this type of study. 

Graduates in Radiology and Imaging, may exercise their activity in official or private health care facilities as responsible for imaging services to be a fundamental part of the team in the Medical Radiodiagnosis.

  • Direct or coordinate Diagnostic Imaging Services.
  • Apply the techniques in the handling of equipment in order to obtain images of body structures necessary to define a diagnosis of diseases.
  • Perform quality control of diagnostic equipment and advice with a solid ethical and humanistic basis.
  • Collaborate with the radiologist in special studies and interventionism.
  • Guide and educate patients about the biological effects of ionizing radiation and other means used in diagnostic imaging.
  • To develop scientific research by forming multidisciplinary teams to deepen their knowledge in the field of radiology and imaging.
  • To carry out specialization and postgraduate courses and to teach in the area of their competence.
