Ethics is a subfield of philosophy that deals with questions of morality and the ways in which individuals judge whether actions are right or wrong.

What is and What Does a Bachelor in Ethics Do ?

Ethics graduates are people who understand logic and how it interacts with emotions, beliefs, and moral standards. They must be able to listen to and understand a variety of opinions based on a wide range of logical and philosophical approaches and evaluate them fairly. 

Exemplary analytical skills are required to objectively assess and apply a wide range of ethical issues and concerns. Some of their common tasks are:

  • Provide internal review of other corporate policies to ensure corporate consistency and integration with the company’s ethical philosophies. 
  • Integrate the message of business ethics throughout the corporate culture.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of business ethics and conflict of interest training and conduct ethical decision-making training for senior management on ethical issues and how to avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Conduct prompt investigations into complaints and allegations of ethical irregularities or conflicts of interest. Prepare written investigation reports as needed.
  • Develop and maintain confidential procedures for handling and processing complaints and allegations. 
  • Provide processes for the confidential hearing of employee issues related to ethics or conflicts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of corporate governance requirements, compliance and reporting responsibilities, and related legal benchmarks of federal and state law.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
