FREE THEATER COURSE

Theater in its essence is a community dream come true. As a public dream, theatre gives us the opportunity to share the joy and sadness among us and to analyse the personal and social issues that make us who we are as individuals and as a community.

Theater by definition is for an audience, the purpose is to coexist in a shared space between the creator and the audience. As a set of staged practices rich in social context, theatre has sought to document, engage and affect communities.

Educational institutions and performing arts schools offer high quality training for beginners and experienced artists alike. This training is offered through Theater Courses. Many of these courses are free or funded by the institutions through scholarships.

A Free Theater Course will develop your skills in acting, directing, teamwork, event management and game creation. You will be challenged to think critically and write with power, and learn how to produce compelling creative performances.

A Free Theater Course encourages students to explore and develop their stage practice, while reflecting on what theatre does and can do in the world.

Careers for graduates of a Free Theater Course include employment within the creative community, such as professional and community Theaters, local arts councils, schools, film production companies and arts agencies. If you are looking to develop your skills or pursue a career in theatre, a Free Course in Theatre may be for you.

What are the Theater Courses ?

A Theater Course is a rigorous and immersive training program that exposes the emerging artist to a wide range of theatre styles and approaches. This course introduces and explores theatre as a live performance art.

The course provides the basic concepts of Theater, including actor presence, self-awareness, active listening, and is based on exploration of the text with a focus on understanding action, character, story, and context.

Through basic training in voice, movement, text and music, the actor builds a personalized process to support the development of resilient and sustainable artistic expression.

The course focuses on Theater as a living, evolving and breathing practice, and emphasizes acting processes as well as public performances. In this course, students will have the opportunity to develop creative skills through performance-based arts experiences and apply them in a collaborative project.

In an intimate setting, students are guided and challenged by influential contemporary Theater artists. In many of the Theater Courses the curriculum is subject to change, following the latest advances in technology, new artistic practices and the needs of the specific group of artists that make up each class.
