What are the Podiatry Courses ?

A Podiatry Course is a training program in both the care of the ankle, feet and their associated structures, and the treatment of their conditions and ailments. The course teaches the student how to work with the feet and legs of people. 

You will learn how to diagnose and treat ankle and foot abnormalities. With this course the student will gain the knowledge to be able to offer professional advice and general recommendations on foot and leg care to prevent future foot problems.

You will gain a good understanding of the systemic conditions that affect the health and function of the lower limb, and develop the confidence and personal skills needed to work as a podiatrist in a placement environment.

During the Podiatry Course the student is trained to make objective evaluations of each case. He or she will observe the color, tone, texture and temperature of the skin, along with a vascular and neurological evaluation to identify any deficits that may be underlying or related to any pre-existing medical complaints.

Upon completion of a Podiatry Course, the student will have a development of skills in the treatment of lower extremity disorders through the application of physical and mechanical therapies, pharmacology and surgery.
