The program of study is multifaceted and incorporates elements of courses, exams, seminars, evaluations, and a doctoral thesis. Students enrolled in a full-time program could expect to complete their studies in three or four years.

What is a PhD in Law ?

A Doctor of Law Degree is an intensive research program designed to prepare law students for careers in the fields of teaching and legal study.

Most programs take three to four years to complete and include elements of courses, assessments and examinations, in addition to completing a full doctoral thesis. The Law Program takes three to four years to complete and may take longer, depending on whether students are enrolled part-time or full-time.

Students who obtain their Ph.D. in Law are prepared to work at the university level as professors and academics and may also choose to publish their work and conduct research for a living. However, this occupation often pays less than working in the private or government law sectors.
