BASKETBALL COURT DIMENSIONS

What Are the Measurements of the Basketball Court ?

Basketball courts come in different sizes depending on the level and type of basketball being played. A professional NBA court measures 94 ‘x 50’ or 28,65 x 15,24 m. The courts are composed of several key components: the baskets, the three-point bows, the foul lines and the half court line. Indoor courts are usually made of polished wood (often maple), while outdoor courts are usually made of pavement, concrete or asphalt. The dimensions and size of the basketball court vary according to the level of play.

The foul line is 15 feet from the face of the board and 2 inches wide. The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and Olympic basketball courts require the court to be slightly smaller at 91.9 feet by 49.2 feet. In meters, that’s 28 by 15 meters.

How far is a half-court shot ? If you consider that the board is 4 feet from the baseline, a half-court shot is 43 feet, unless it is on a high school court which would then be 38 feet.
